I hate that I need to say this,
but you need to plan ahead for your mail and packages too.

Once you close, that’s it.
If you’re buying, that new address is where everything needs to go.
If you’re selling, that’s someone else’s home now.
No, you can’t go check the mail. That’s not your mail now.
And if the previous owner is coming by, ask them nicely to stop.
Once it’s in your mailbox, it’s a Federal Crime to tamper with it. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this.
But this is an easy fix. Just go to USPS and have your mail forwarded. (The link opens in a new tab for your convenience.)
Take a minute to make a list of every place that ships stuff to you. Then hit their websites and update your information immediately AFTER Closing.
- Amazon
- Temu
- Auto Parts
- Random Website
- FedEx & UPS
- Any other supplier
If you have your shipping information saved in your browser, password saver, or any other digital source, make sure you update those too.
