The Only Hardball Question
Lender Example:
Your Mom is moving to a different state
that you don’t service
and have no connections to anyone…
What would you tell her so she can find a great lender by herself?
How can she avoid a bad one?
What questions should she ask?
What process should she use?
FAQs
Time, money, and tech limitations.
Zoom is great resource, but the systems that I’m using give me a LOT more control and no time limitations.
That results in a much better quality production that I can customize if necessary.
That, and Zoom has a time limit of 40 minutes unless I move to a paid plan. And I’m a cheapskate!
I’m looking into other options, but of the two main contenders, neither has the full suite of what I want.
Is it live, or Memorex?
We can do either, but I like Live broadcasts. These are preferred by every social media platform over pre-recorded videos.
I also record these to be edited later and used in future content too. I will provide you with a copy via the Google Drive Folder as soon as possible.
Naturally, you are welcome to use the content too, on any platform you want!
What platform(s) will this be broadcast on?
I haven’t entirely decided yet. I’m leaning towards Twitch for Livestream, then publishing the final recording to other platforms later.
Can you add one of mine?
Probably not. The technical side is too complicated.
What about vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc?
My streaming software is set to record both formats. I can stream in both, but it’s a challenge. For now, I’m sticking with landscape (horizontal) for streaming.
That said, I will be taking notes during the show when there’s a great moment, so I can go back into the recording of the vertical video and edit that for publication later.
What platforms will you publish the recording on?
Definitely YouTube for the full-length.
I will also publish these on my website too. This will probably be as a video, but also possibly audio, text, or a combination of those.
If you have a page on my website (and you should), I will be posting it there too.
I may edit a great clip and use it in a compilation later too.
The short-form (usually vertical) content I may use on any platform.
If you drop a 10 second WOW idea, yeah, it’s getting published everywhere.
In the near future I do plan on publishing to a traditional podcasting outlet in both video and audio forms. These may take additional editing, require multiple episodes uploaded to activate the channel, etc.
What Can I Use?
You are welcome to use anything we produce together!
In fact, I encourage it!
This is how we help each other grow.
Other Stuff:
Subtitles are automatically generated in the streaming software via Google’s service. It probably won’t be accurate, especially if you are using technical language (“escrow” probably will get picked up as “as crow”).
If there’s something that’s important to have correct on a recorded version, I’ll have to edit it manually later.
You’d probably do well to remind me.
Music:
It’s really tough to include any music. My intro and our coffee break sequences may have royalty-free music or a commercial license. And even TikTok has dinged me for music. This gets complicated quickly, depending on platform, etc.
Because of that, I won’t use any other music on the Live broadcast, but I may include some in the recorded / edited version, which is easier to manage based on what platform it will be uploaded to.
These are examples only! No need for a crib sheet. We’re just having a conversation in front of someone else.
Background
So before we dig into the content, let’s get to know you a little better.
Where are you from originally? Big picture background? (Ex: Joined the Air Force at 17, did 2 hitches, got out, shit went sideways, but I finally got here.)
Significant Other?
What about Pets? How many of what? Pictures!
What are some hobbies that are you into? (Bodybuilding, sailing, gaming, etc.)
Transition
So how did you get into (“Lending” is the example I’ll use)? Was that intentional, or something you slipped into sideways?
