What Is A Real Estate Brokerage?
Brokerages big and small have some common elements, namely a managing Broker, Agents who work under the Broker, and the Brokerage culture and capability.
Your prospective agent should be able to clearly articulate their own value, but also why they choose to work for that brokerage.
Bigger is Better, right?
While they may sell the most burgers, no one has ever said that McDonald’s has the best tasting hamburgers.
But Chili’s make a pretty darn good burger. And the fancy French place costs a fortune, but it’s sooo worth it!
Sure, you can hire a McDonald’s agent, but don’t expect a Chili’s experience, much less the fancy French place.
Why it matters
You get to choose your experience, and part of that is the support capabilities of the Brokerage.
Some Brokerages tout their agent training programs, some have no training programs at all. Some agents need it, some don’t.
But when the sands of the real estate industry shift (as they are now), having the proper guidance can prevent a host of problems, including lawsuits. A good Broker understand this, and educates their agents on how to proceed in a safe manner that still benefits clients.
